NEENAH, Wis. — The recent enforcement suspension of the 34-hour restart restrictions has been incorporated into the J. J. Keller & Associates Inc.® Encompass® E-Log System. The FY 2015 Omnibus Appropriations Act signed by President Obama on Dec. 16 suspended the two 34-hour restart restrictions that were in place since July 1, 2013. To address this change, J. J. Keller updated its Encompass E-Log System to ensure customers remain in compliance.
The 34-hour restart suspension is in effect until Sept. 30. However, if the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) does not provide a study justifying the restrictions on the 34-hour restart to Congress by that date, the suspension will continue until FMCSA does so.
