A subsidiary of Spectra Energy has been awarded a project to build a $1.5 billion, 168-mile natural gas pipeline in Texas that will serve the Mexican market. Valley Crossing Pipeline will build a 5 billion-cubic-feet-per-day header system in Nueces County and a 2.6 billion-cubic-feet-per-day pipeline that will stretch to Brownsville. There, the pipeline will connect to the Sur de Texas–Tuxpan pipeline, ultimately serving 37 million customers in Mexico.
