ExxonMobil has begun revamp work on a 110,000-barrel-per-day crude distillation unit at its Beaumont, Texas, refinery, Reuters reports. Sources say the planned maintenance period will last between 60 and 70 days and is being done in preparation for an eventual refinery expansion.
Last month ExxonMobil decided to put on hold a plan to add a third crude distillation unit to the Beaumont site, a project that would have made it the largest refinery in the U.S.
