With the rise in industrial projects and sustained demand for skilled labor, the ability to deploy workers on-site quickly — without compromising safety or compliance — has become more important than ever before.
Developed through a rigorous, collaborative process with Association of Reciprocal Safety Councils (ARSC) members and validated by industry experts, the reimagined Basic Orientation Plus® (BOP) program meets this need. The BOP curriculum maximizes time on tools and boosts learner retention while upholding legal defensibility. Alliance Safety Council, a founding member of ARSC, is a proud administrator of the BOP.
Here’s what is new about the awareness-level process safety management training the industry has trusted for over 25 years:
Expanded delivery options
Instructor-led, lab-based, or online — industrial facilities can now choose the delivery method that best fit their workforce and site needs.
With instructor-led training, students can learn in a traditional classroom setting led by expert facilitators who bring realworld safety experience to life. Lab-based training allows students to complete training in a quiet, on-site lab environment at one of Alliance Safety Council’s five training locations in Louisiana (Addis, Gonzales, Walker, Baton Rouge and Sulphur).
The online BOP is available to students anytime, anywhere — 24/7 access and no registration required. Alliance Safety Council’s online option features technologyassisted proctoring for maximum flexibility and accountability.
Efficiency without cutting corners
First-time students can complete training online in three hours — or four hours in a classroom — while still diving deep into everything they need to know.
Knowledge that shows results
The online option has built-in questions that give learners real-time feedback, and there’s a graded assessment at the end of each module to maintain legal defensibility.
Active learning that feels real
Real-world scenarios put learners in the driver’s seat, simulating a true day on the job and keeping them fully engaged from start to finish.
A refresher that really refreshes
The new BOP Refresher uses a "proveyour- proficiency" model that honors the experience of the workforce. It focuses on what needs review. It can take as little as 30 minutes to complete.
Remember: Options for training better serve the industrial workforce. Owner/operator facilities don’t need to exclusively commit to one training provider to ensure compliance with safety standards. That’s the power of BOP — a program built on reciprocity and integrity, owned and audited by a neutral third party to ensure fairness across the board.
