HOUSTON — Suez Environnement North America has opened a business development office in Houston to better serve existing and future clients in the petrochemical, oil & gas and power industries. The office opening is part of Suez’s broader plan to bring technology solutions to water-intensive industries that are facing increasingly stringent regulatory requirements amidst resource scarcity.
The city of Houston is one of the most important industrial sectors in the world and was recently ranked No. 1 among the top U.S. manufacturing cities. “With a growing presence in both traditional and renewable forms of energy technology, Houston is an ideal base for the continued development of Suez Environnement’s industrial water treatment activities in the region and throughout North America,” said Max Pellegrini, President of Suez’s Treatment Solutions segment.
Pellegrini believes that moving closer to clients in the Gulf Coast will give Suez the opportunity to better understand the issues they are facing and to craft real solutions to their local problems. With a broad portfolio of sustainable water treatment technologies, a global network of experts and operational experience in the execution of projects for the petrochemical, oil & gas and power industries around the world, Suez can offer a full solution to address the most difficult water challenges.
Suez additionally has a thriving industrial services activity in the Gulf Coast, with a fleet of specialized mobile trailers that address the short-term and emergency deionization needs of industries throughout the region. The addition of a team focused on the custom design and supply of capital equipment will broaden the group’s footprint in the region.
Suez has worked extensively on numerous capital equipment projects in the Gulf Coast, notably with petrochemical giant Sasol. Sasol recently commissioned Suez for the design and supply of raw water and wastewater treatment systems for its new $8.1 billion ethane cracker and derivatives complex in Lake Charles, La. Drawing upon a broad portfolio of proprietary in-house technologies like the SuperPulsator® clarifier, demineralizers, condensate polishers and dissolved air flotation systems, Suez will custom-design four fully integrated multi-train systems that will be key components of the new facility, which is slated to be fully operational in 2018.
