HOUSTON — Ref-Chem employees recently donated backpacks filled with school supplies to the Vic Coppinger Family YMCA Operation Backpack school supply drive. All of the donations supported Houston-area students in need. These donations also helped the students receive the supplies they needed in order to start a successful school year.
“Operation Backpack gives students in the Greater Houston area the tools they need to facilitate their academic potentials,” said YMCA of Greater Houston CEO Clark Baker. “We believe developing our youth in the classroom today will help them build a brighter tomorrow.”
“Operation Backpack gives students the hope, joy and excitement as they start the school year,” added Marina Johnson, a Ref Chem marketing administrative assistant and a YMCA Board of Directors’ member. “These students can one day be our future engineers, project managers or even CEOs.”
