LAFAYETTE, La. — The Energy Leadership Academy, a joint venture between Safety Management Systems LLC (SMS) and Excelerant, honored its 22 inaugural program graduates. The program is designed for leaders in the energy industry with less than five years of experience managing others and professional leaders without direct reports.
“In light of the recent oil and gas industry changes, it’s increasingly important to focus on training tomorrow’s leaders. Everyday demands are challenging but being a leader during tough times is a true test of character,” said SMS President Scott Domingue.
The Energy Leadership Academy commenced in November 2014, and students met monthly at SMS’ training facility in Lafayette for four sessions.
