LAFAYETTE, La. — Ecoserv has invested approximately $12 million to open its Marine-Enviro Center, or Superdock, at Port Fourchon.
The 30-acre site with 1,600 feet of dockside frontage is larger than most at the port. It provides offloading of E&P waste materials and features traditional and automated cleaning of boats, barges and marine portable containers.
Offshore support vessels deliver virgin materials, such as drilling mud and completion fluids, to offshore rigs and return carrying waste products. At its Superdock, Ecoserv offloads the waste products and cleans compartments in boats and barges to return them to service as quickly as possible. The site also processes other types of waste, including naturally occurring radioactive materials.
Ecoserv’s line of Industrobots cleaning robots is used at the dockside facility.
