BP today announced it would proceed with plans to build an unmanned gas platform and corresponding subsea infrastructure 50 miles off the coast of Trinidad. The new Juniper facility will produce gas from the Coralita and Lantana fields, with production capacity of approximately 590 million cubic feet per day. The produced gas will flow to BP’s Mahogany B hub via a new flowline. Construction is set to begin in the fourth quarter of this year, and drilling will begin next year.
Juniper will be BP Trinidad and Tobago’s 14th offshore platform. BP also has two onshore processing facilities in Trinidad and Tobago.
