Flint Hills Resources and Stabilis Energy on Monday announced the grand opening of their joint venture LNG liquefaction facility in George West, Texas. The 100,000-gallon-per-day facility will provide fuel for high-horsepower engines used in the Eagle Ford Shale and other areas in Texas, as well as transportation, mining, rail and other uses. Stabilis Energy CEO Casey Crenshaw said his company could provide LNG fuel that is cost competitive with diesel despite low oil prices.
Flint Hills and Stabilis in October announced plans to buy property for a second LNG facility in Odessa, Texas, that would serve Permian Basin producers.
