Enterprise Products Partners announced today an expanded leg of its Mid-America pipeline has begun operating. The expanded portion of the pipeline’s Rocky Mountain segment is transporting natural gas and NGLs from basins in Utah, Colorado and Wyoming for shippers who have long-term agreements with Enterprise. Enterprise first announced the project in May 2011 after securing a slew of 10-year ship-or-pay transportation agreements representing approximately 38,500 bpd with options that could increase overall capacity to 85,000 bpd.
The Mid-America pipeline allows shippers to transport natural gas and NGLs from the Overthrust and San Juan basin areas to Enterprise’s fractionation facility in Mont Belvieu, Texas, via an interconnect in Gaines County, Texas. The Mont Belvieu facility has undergone expansions in recent months.
