Cheniere Energy is considering building a new condensate export facility near Corpus Christi, Texas, FuelFix reports. Cheniere is in talks to buy 552 acres along the La Quinta Ship Channel to build the facility, which could cost as much as $600 million. The project would have the capability to store and ship condensate products such as naphtha, kerosene and diesel. Cheniere may also build a condensate splitter on the site.
A Cheniere spokesman said the company would file for state and federal permits by the end of this month and close on the property by the end of the year. Construction could begin in late 2015.
Cheniere is developing LNG export facilities at the Sabine Pass LNG terminal in Cameron Parish, La., and on a site along the La Quinta Ship Channel on the northeast side of Corpus Christi Bay.
