Williams Partners today announced its Geismar, La., olefins plant would begin manufacturing ethylene for sale in November. Williams said all major construction related to rebuilding the plant in the wake of a June 2013 explosion that killed two people is complete. Williams also completed an expansion project that increased the plant’s ethylene production capacity to 1.95 billion pounds per year. General contractors for the rebuild and expansion project have been demobilized and Williams personnel are now directing the dry-out and commissioning.
