Magellan Midstream Partners will construct a 50,000-barrels-per-day condensate splitter at its Corpus Christi, Texas, terminal, the company announced today. The splitter will be built under a fee-based, take-or-pay agreement with Trafigura AG. Magellan said it would build another splitter of the same capacity if warranted by demand. The project will also include more than one million barrels of storage, dock improvements and truck rack bays and a pipeline between the terminal and Trafigura’s facility. The entire project is expected to cost approximately $250 million and be operational in the second half of 2016.
