CF Industries started up a new urea ammonium nitrate (UAN) plant at its Donaldsonville, Louisiana, Nitrogen Complex earlier this month, the company said today. It is the second plant to be started up as part of CF’s ongoing North America expansion — it started up a urea plant at the Donaldsonville facility in December.
The new plant increases UAN capacity at the Donaldsonville plant from 2.4 million tons per year to 4.2 million tons per year. CF CEO Tony Will said in a statement a new ammonia plant in Donaldsonville will be mechanically complete within a few weeks.
