Oil production in North Dakota surpassed one million barrels per day in April, state officials said on Tuesday. North Dakota is currently the No. 2 oil-producing state in the U.S., behind Texas, which produces nearly 3 million barrels per day. Via Forum News Service, North Dakota’s production is expected to continue growing through 2017, when it will level out at approximately 1.5 million barrels per day. The state has set oil production records in each of the past six years and saw 29% higher annual production in 2013 alone.
