Westlake Chemical is set to restart a 567,000 mt/year steam cracker at its Lake Charles, Louisiana site after an 80-day turnaround, Platts reports. The planned work also includes an annual capacity expansion of 113,000 mt.
Platts notes that Westlake is the fifth Gulf Coast producer to complete planned maintenance in the past two months. LyondellBasell is still undergoing planned maintenance and an expansion at its Corpus Christi, Texas, plant.
