Dow Chemical is in the process of restarting a steam cracker at its Freeport, Texas, plant after a shutdown in mid-December, Platts reports. Dow began a planned turnaround at light hydrocarbons unit No. 8 Dec. 1 and began a restart on Dec. 10. The unit had to be shut down four days later after a trip of a cracked gas compressor. The restart process began on Friday and is expected to last until Friday of this week.
