Chevron Phillips Chemical will restart its Cedar Bayou plant in Baytown, Texas, after a planned turnaround, a filing with state regulators showed Tuesday, Platts reported.
The filing indicates the initial startup process, and a source close to the matter estimates it will take about a week and a half, Platts stated.
The 835,000 mt/year Cedar Bayou plant was taken offline for a planned 50- to 60-day maintenance in early September, sources said.
The company is flaring during the process -- including 14,187 lb of ethylene, 5,696 lb of propylene, 10,600 lb of benzene and 4,270 lb of butadiene, the filing showed.
A company spokesman could not be reached for comment, Platts stated.
