BP has restarted the largest crude distillation unit at its Whiting, Indiana, refinery after repairs. The unit had been shut down since Aug. 8, when it suffered a malfunctioned. Prior reports indicated the unit would be down for at least a month. The outage caused gasoline prices to spike in Chicago and other surrounding areas.
