Two people were taken to a local hospital after an incident this morning at Placid Refining in West Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana. Via WBRZ in Baton Rouge, authorities described the incident as a gas leak, but Placid has yet to release any details. State police said there was no ongoing threat.
UPDATE: The Associated Press reports the two people who were injured were contractors and may have been exposed to gas while working near storage tanks. A Placid spokesman said no substances leaked from the tanks or nearby facilities and that OSHA is investigating whether safety equipment the contractors had was used properly.
