A contractor was killed and three other people were hospitalized in an explosion at a PeroxyChem plant in Pasadena, Texas, on Saturday. Via KHOU in Houston, the contractor was transferring a mix of chemicals when equipment he was using exploded. Another contractor suffered a broken arm and two PeroxyChem employees were hospitalized due to chemical exposure.
There was also a leak of an oil-based cleaning solution, but authorities said it posed no danger to the public. PeroxyChem said it was too early to identify what caused the explosion.
