Alliance Safety Council
As a busy safety professional, where do you go to stay on top of the latest innovations and safety regulations critical to protecting yourself and your fellow employees? For the first time in its history, the Louisiana Governor's Safety & Health Conference will be co-located with Safety+, an Integrated Safety & Health Management System Symposium formerly known as the National VPPPA Safety and Health Conference. This widely anticipated event will be held Aug. 29-Sept. 1 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.
"We are thrilled to partner with VPPPA and take our Louisiana Governor's Safety & Health Conference on the road this year," said Alliance Safety Council President and CEO Kathy Trahan. "Together, these two conferences will provide safety professionals with an abundance of timely educational workshops and strategic networking opportunities. It is our belief that these collective venues for information sharing will help to create much safer, healthier workplaces."
The Safety+ National Symposium is the only exhibit show in the country tailor-made for Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) sites and sites striving for VPP status. Attracting some of the most innovative manufacturers of safety, health and environmental products and services, the VPPPA Expo offers conference attendees direct access to leaders in these fields.
The Louisiana Governor's Safety & Health Conference will have a special exhibitor section within the Safety+ hall for exhibiting companies to showcase their products and services to over 2,500 decision-makers and industry leaders. The Louisiana Governor's Conference will also offer a robust workshop track throughout the conference.
Tracks will focus on topics critical to ensuring a healthy workplace. These workshops are geared toward those who have been in the health and safety field for years, as well as those just beginning their careers. Regardless of experience levels, attendees will leave each workshop with specific knowledge that can be applied directly to their jobs.
In addition to the unique educational opportunities provided by the workshop track, attendees will have the opportunity to network with professionals from a variety of industry sectors, including chemical, construction, emergency and environmental management, human resources, industrial hygiene, security, transportation, utilities and many more. Attendees typically hold positions such as safety director/manager, security manager, human resources director, production supervisor, HS&E manager and training supervisor. Participants include major chemical, oil and gas, and energy companies, as well as the contractors that serve them.
"These collective venues for information sharing will help to create much safer, healthier workplaces."
