A report by the Houston Chronicle reveals engineer, project manager and sales representative are among the most popular jobs for returning military veterans. The White House says more than 1 million veterans will be transitioning from the military to the civilian workforce in the coming years, and some industry firms are lining up to recruit them.
Cheniere Energy, for instance, is partnering with Fort Polk in Leesville, Louisiana, to recruit soldiers while they are still active and train them as welders. Veterans in the program are later eligible to be placed on projects such as Cheniere’s Sabine Pass LNG terminal, the Chronicle reports.
