Chevron reported today an explosion and fire broke out at a natural gas well it owns in southwestern Pennsylvania. The blast resulted in one person being injured, and another is missing. Reuters reported that the fire was still burning as of this afternoon at Chevron’s Lanco 7H well in Dunkard Township. The incident occurred this morning at around 6:45 am.
Wednesday Update (11:53 am CST): The Wall Street Journal reports that Chevron is still fighting the fire. The company has pulled some personnel and resources from other Marcellus operations in its effort to contain the blaze.
