Swiss pump manufacturer Sulzer said it is engaged in non-exclusive talks with Houston-based Dresser-Rand about a potential merger. Via Bloomberg, a deal between the two firms would create a $6.5 billion oil and gas industry equipment juggernaut selling compressors, turbines and pumps. Sulzer did not elaborate further and said the discussions do not guarantee that a deal will be made. Dresser-Rand declined comment.
