Paul Carrico has retired as president and CEO of Axiall, the firm announced today. Axiall said Timothy Mann, executive vice president of strategy, general counsel and secretary, would serve as interim president and CEO while it searches for a permanent replacement.
Via the Atlanta Business Journal, Carrico, who became president and CEO of Georgia Gulf in 2008, is credited with steering the firm back to financial health and led Georgia Gulf’s transformation into Axiall in 2013 after it merged with PPG’s chlor-alkali business. Mann has been with Axiall since 2012 and recently led the formation of its joint venture with Korean firm Lotte Chemical. Last month Axiall and Lotte finalized terms to build a $2 billion ethane cracker in Lake Charles, La.
