An expansion of Sempra Energy’s Cameron LNG export terminal in Hackberry, Louisiana, has obtained federal approval to export natural gas to non-free-trade-agreement countries. Cameron LNG received final approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in 2014 is now under construction. Sempra last year filed for an expansion that would add two more liquefaction trains to the three in the original plans.
The $10 billion facility is expected to start up in 2018.
