The U.S. will be a net exporter of natural gas by the second half of 2017, according to the Energy Information Administration. Via Platts, the agency projects rising natural gas exports due to the ramp up of Cheniere Energy’s Sabine Pass LNG terminal and increased demand from Mexico. Meanwhile, net imports are expected to decline significantly from 2015 levels. It will be the first time in 60 years the U.S. exports natural gas than it imports.
