Erosion, temperature and corrosion resistant surfaces are critical to hydrocarbon, gas, chemical and other processing industries. There are numerous materials on the market to do the job, but it takes special skills and materials-specific equipment to install those materials properly. It is demanding. Quality is essential. Safety is paramount.
Diamond Refractory Services was formed in 1999 when several successful refractory specialists pooled their resources and knowledge with the goal of making the new company one of the best service companies of its kind in the industry. Since then, the company has been able to expand its services, hire talented committed craftspeople and acquire state-of-the art equipment in enough quantities to allow it to perform multiple projects at multiple locations simultaneously.
Diamond Refractory teams can mobilize quickly anywhere within the United States to answer emergency needs because they have all of their own equipment. This self-sufficiency and complete backup capability enables the company’s teams to react immediately to any refractory project/problem in the country.
Although Diamond Refractory has completed in excess of 1,501,067 man-hours on FCCU projects at refineries in the United States alone, the company also provides refractory installation, repairs and revamps to sulfur units, acid plants and furnaces and heaters.
Diamond has made some distinct innovations as the company has grown and evolved including its Reduced CrVI (chromium hexavalent) Exposure Technique anchor welding procedure.
Diamond’s services include scope identification, budget preparation, cost tracking/control, planning, scheduling, QA/QC documentation and post project reports. Craft, management and supervision are API 936 certified and can offer turnkey capabilities from completing anchor welding to refractory installation along with the backup needed to assure on-time completion.
In addition to FCCUs, the company’s laundry list of services is extensive and includes pumpable coatings; Gunite™ and cast-in-place installations; structural concrete; acid brick; engineered ceramic fiber systems for furnaces and heaters; intricate brick lining for thermal reactor and condenser vessels in sulfur units; complete acid proofing, linings and coatings; burner replacements for power boilers; concrete deterioration remediation and corrosion mitigation services and more.
