Southwestern Energy has picked COO and President Bill Way to succeed Steven Mueller as its CEO. Via FuelFix, Way said the company, which is the fourth-largest shale driller in the Appalachian region, is focused on reigning in costs while the oil and gas downturn persists. Way joined Southwestern in 2011 and previously oversaw E&P, midstream and LNG operations for UK firm BG Group in the U.S. Mueller is retiring as CEO in May.
