For more than 48 years, Koza’s has served as a leader in the promotional products/safety incentives industry thanks to a commitment to quality products, outstanding service and on-time delivery.
During its almost 50-year journey, Koza’s has enjoyed more successes than challenges, though the challenges have been valuable learning tools. Among the company’s employees, 20 percent have more than 20 years of tenure. Benefits of this experience are helping customers choose the right product and recognizing the significance of brand integrity to an organization. When Koza’s says “yes” to a project, one can feel secure about quality and timeliness.
For example, a pipeline company project manager working in the Utica Shale contacted Koza’s and wanted to recognize his employees for a job well done. The team had exceeded expectations and was nearing project completion with no recordable injury. The company wanted to reward the key performance but only had 11 days to make it happen. Many on the team were from Texas and working in Ohio was a new experience, so the project manager wanted the award to reflect the specialness of the accomplishment and he wanted the team to be excited and proud of their incentive.
When the company contacted Koza’s, they were not sure if the timeline could be met, as they needed 600 pieces. They also did not have a good idea of what they wanted. Koza’s asked many questions and committed to presenting ideas in 24 hours, all of which could be produced in time. The next day, Koza’s provided artwork and ideas for several products and the project manager chose a custom cap that captured their logo surrounded by mountains, the name of the project and an internal message/rallying cry of the project team. Even though the project manager liked the artwork and the concept, he was concerned about buying without having a physical sample in hand, so Koza’s had him one by 10 a.m. the next day. He then authorized the project and received the hats before the date needed.
“When a company involves us for a safety award, it is an honor, a privilege and we need to deliver a quality product on time,” said Joseph Koza, the company’s owner. “Also, the person who presents the award and the person who receives the award need to feel proud.”
Another example of Koza’s experience helping an organization involved working with a midstream organization’s marketing department. Koza’s learned they were considering launching a hand safety campaign, so Koza’s met with the HSE director and shared its work with several hand safety campaigns. The relationship began with helping with the hand safety campaign, and, over two years, has grown to Koza’s offering an online safety award program for the company. Currently, the program has more than 20 products, each with an assigned point value. Employees earn points for all types of activities and redeem their points for the items available in the online store.
Facilitating an organization’s safety and marketing efforts is endless and occurs daily at Koza’s. A key phrase inside the doors of Koza’s is “Exceeding Customer’s Expectations.” By focusing on quality, service and on-time delivery, Koza’s meets its motto.
