Canadian authorities will allow Shell to drill off the coast of Nova Scotia, the Canadian Press reports. Shell acquired six exploration licenses in the Shelburne Basin in 2012 and 2013 and is expected to begin drilling in the fourth quarter of this year. The Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Petroleum Board on Tuesday approved Shell’s plan after the company reduced the amount of time it would take to get a capping stack on site in the event of a well blowout.
