Duke Energy plans to build two new solar plants in North Carolina with a combined capacity of over 75 megawatts, the company announced today. The 60-megawatt Monroe Solar Facility will be built on 400 acres of land in Monroe County. The 15.4-megawatt Mocksville Solar Facility will be located on 110 acres in Mocksville.
Duke has invested more than $4 billion in wind and solar plants over the past eight years and plans to invest $3 billion more over the next five years.
