Valero has reduced the targeted capacity of its planned St. Charles refinery expansion, according to documents filed with the Louisiana DEQ. The company announced last July that it would spend $700 million to build a methanol unit at the Norco, La., facility, among other upgrades. Anticipated capacity has been reduced from 290,000 bpd to 275,000 bpd. LDEQ is seeking public comment on the expansion until Feb. 20.
