Shell Chemical is considering expanding its olefins plant in Deer Park, Texas, Platts reports. A Shell spokesman said the company is evaluating expanded ethylene production at the plant’s existing olefins units, but did not give details on the targeted capacity or project timeline. Shell would have to evaluate downstream product support, perform preliminary engineering and design work and secure state permits before making a final investment decision.
