The EPA finalized a permit granted to ExxonMobil to move forward with the construction of a new ethylene production unit at its Baytown, Texas, olefins plant. The Sierra Club appealed for a review of the agency’s initial permit for the project, which was issued in November. The EPA on Wednesday denied the appeal, and ExxonMobil Baytown Plant Manager Woody Paul said construction would begin soon.
