Sasol will push back the startup of some units at its new $8.9 billion chemical plant in Lake Charles from 2018 to 2019, Bloomberg reports. The South African firm’s first-half profits fell 63%, and it increased its cost-savings targets for the next three years.
Sasol last year deferred a final investment decision on a $14 billion GTL plant, also to be built in Lake Charles. The company later said it was considering building the plant at half of its originally planned capacity.
