Survey: 74 percent support building new pipelines in Louisiana
New poll results show a vast majority of people in Louisiana support new oil and gas pipelines. According to a recent poll conducted by Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy, 74 percent of those polled support the construction of new pipelines in Louisiana. Support for pipelines was consistent across every demographic and every geographic region.
The poll also showed most Louisianans support oil and natural gas pipelines because they understand they are a safe, responsible source of job growth for the state. Pipelines continue to be a safe way to transport important commodities to Louisiana and throughout the nation.
Currently, Louisiana has close to 50,000 miles of pipelines. This integrated system of pipelines crisscrosses every major highway, railroad and navigable waterway in Louisiana. Further, this infrastructure directly corresponds to the nation's ability to become energy independent and now work toward becoming a net exporter of oil and natural gas.

API N.Y.: Valley Lateral pipeline critical to consumers, workers
API New York welcomed the recent federal district court decision to reject attempts by New York state regulators to block the Valley Lateral Project, a natural gas pipeline project in Orange County that will bring affordable and reliable energy to the area.
"This decision is great news for New York workers and consumers who have been harmed by attempts to stifle energy infrastructure modernization in the state," said API New York Executive Director Karen Moreau.
"Clean and affordable natural gas is vital to our state's economy. It supported 258,000 New York jobs and supported nearly $40 billion of our state's economy in 2015. We have an opportunity to invest in our energy future and continue to build upon our record of environmental stewardship and cleaner air."

TransCanada places Cameron Access project in service
TransCanada Corp. has recently placed its Cameron Access project into service in Southwest Louisiana, enhancing the company's ability to deliver North American-produced natural gas to high-value LNG export markets.
Cameron Access involved improvements to existing pipeline, construction of a new compressor station and the addition of 27 miles (43 kilometres) of 36-inch diameter greenfield pipeline. Representing an investment of approximately $300 million, the pipeline is capable of transporting 800,000 dekatherms a day to the Cameron LNG export facility. The Cameron LNG export facility is currently under construction and scheduled to go into service at the end of 2019.
Throughout the course of the project, TransCanada worked closely with landowners and local officials to ensure they were an important part of the process. Cameron Access was designed and constructed with a core focus on safety and minimizing environmental impact.
