Five workers were injured in an explosion Thursday at Dow Chemical’s plant in North Andover, Massachusetts. Via WCVB in Boston, the blast occurred as workers were handling trimethyl aluminum, which appeared to have come in contact with air or water. Three of the workers were critically injured, suffering burns and shrapnel wounds, and taken to Boston hospitals. One of the workers was treated at the scene.
One worker was killed in an explosion at the North Andover plant in October 2013.
