BP has restored normal operations at its Whiting, Indiana, refinery, which had been running at reduced output since a wastewater issue sprang up in late July. A wastewater plant malfunction resulted in five times the allowed volumes of total suspended solids flowing into Lake Michigan. BP was able to reduce the wastewater discharge to permitted levels earlier this month.
