Williams Partners said today federal regulators approved its plan to expand natural gas delivery to customers in New Jersey via its Transco pipeline. The project includes additional compression to provide firm gas service and increased reliability to more than half a million customers of New Jersey Natural Gas. Williams said it would provide transportation from a pooling point in Mercer County to a new interconnection on its Trenton Woodbury Lateral in Burlington County. The company will coordinate with New Jersey Natural Gas on construction dates and other activities.
The project is part of a $1.3 billion in capital projects that include Transco expansions and other interstate pipeline expansions in the eastern U.S. Williams said the Transco pipeline would be delivering more than 17 billion cubic feet per day of gas by the end of 2017.
