SMITHLAND, Ky. — PERI Formwork Systems recently provided a customized formwork and shoring solution for the Smithland Hydroelectric Power Plant. The extremely tight construction schedule, massive structural elements and in part multicurved surfaces required a huge number of specially made 3-D formwork units in addition to large quantities of system equipment. Using a comprehensive project-oriented concept, PERI specialists are supporting the contractor, C.J. Mahan Construction Co., in ensuring efficient and dimensionally accurate construction according to schedule. This has been possible due to the close, transnational cooperation of the PERI engineers and pre-fabrication of the elements along with continuous coordination facilitated through the PERI project manager on the construction site.
