Located in Manheim, Pa.; Elizabethtown, Pa.; and Corona, Calif., Harrington Hoists Inc. is a leading manufacturer of revolutionary manual, electric and air chain hoists as well as wire rope hoists and crane products. Known throughout the industry for world-class products, a driven sales focus and outstanding customer service, Harrington is committed to doing whatever it takes to satisfy its customers’ needs.
“If customers want to buy a top-quality product and receive the best possible service and support, then a Harrington product is exactly what they need,” said Bret Lussow, vice president of business development for Harrington Hoists. “We pride ourselves in providing the best hoists in the market with the latest technology, but to stand out, we must listen to our customers and their needs. Customer satisfaction is our main priority.”
New products
Harrington supplies and manufactures electric chain and wire rope hoists, air powered hoists, lever hoists, manual hand chain hoists, trolleys, cranes, crane components and a full line of replacement parts. Harrington has recently launched several new products to benefit all types of industries including its NER electric chain hoists with a new Smart Limit option. These hoists are available in dual speed capacities from one-eighth ton through 5 ton and will be used in applications that require precise lifting, lowering and stopping and for delicate or fragile loads.
“This revolutionary Smart Limit technology allows the operator to set upper/lower limit switches from the pendant without opening the hoist’s control panel,” said Lussow. “Another great hoist we recently added to our product line is the NER Food Grade hoist. This three-phase electric chain hoist includes all of the top quality features of our standard NER hoist, but it was carefully designed for food processing or food packaging applications. The hoist comes with stainless steel and nickel-plated components as standard features, and its food grade lubricant complies with Food and Drug Administration standards. Upgrades such as stainless steel bottom hook and stainless steel trolley wheels are available.”
Harrington has also recently released its super strong, Grade 100 Sling Chain that is used to make chain slings when appropriate sling fittings are attached. Typical applications requiring sling chains are those involving the lifting of heavy loads or repetitive lifting situations in construction, foundries, steel mills and heavy machining processes. The Harrington Grade 100 Sling Chain is durable, flexible and will tolerate a wide range of temperatures.
“Our goal is to continue expanding our product line offering by listening to our customers’ needs and making sure they are satisfied with our support and service,” said Lussow. “We are also looking into increasing our reach in the Latin American market in which we have been doing a fantastic job so far. Overall, our goal is to get more potential customers to join the Harrington revolution.”
New facility
Harrington has also leased 97,000 square feet of commercial property in the Elizabethtown, Pa., Conewago Industrial Park. The Elizabethtown facility opened in April and the space was needed to support Harrington’s growth in North American manufacturing and for the expansion of its sales. Harrington is a wholly owned subsidiary of KITO Corp. of Japan and is part of the KITO Group. The company’s additional manufacturing is part of a corporate strategy of global expansion.
“This move is a huge step in our global manufacturing diversification and will allow Harrington Hoists Inc. to improve our service to the United States and the Americas,” said Carlo Lonardi, COO of Harrington Hoists. “We have been very excited to work closely with our parent company, KITO Corp., in the moving of both the sourcing and manufacturing operations to the United States for these particular products. The proximity to our suppliers and our Manheim resources has made Elizabethtown the ideal location for this new operation.”
Harrington houses warehousing and assembly operations in this facility. Operations, fabrication and cell production manufacturing remain at the Manheim facility.
“We are excited to have our new Elizabethtown facility up and running,” said Lonardi. “This new facility has improved our lead times in our manual products and is helping the repatriation of manufacturing. We are happy Elizabethtown is providing an even better customer satisfaction experience for our clients, as well as creating more jobs in the manufacturing industry in America.”
