The U.S. Justice Department on Friday said it would not file criminal charges against Tesoro Corp. after investigating a 2010 explosion at the company’s Anacortes, Wash., refinery that killed seven workers. Via the Associated Press, prosecutors determined there was no evidence that reached the “exacting bar for criminal prosecution” in the case. The U.S. Chemical Safety Board in May blamed the incident on Tesoro’s safety culture and inadequate industry heat exchanger standards.
