A power outage at a sulfur recovery unit at LyondellBasell’s Houston refinery on Tuesday triggered flaring, Reuters reports. It is the refinery’s second malfunction this week — on Monday a butane recovery unit released propane after a piece broke off of a pump. No injuries have been reported.
LyondellBasell is currently repairing a coking unit at the refinery that was damaged in an April 8 fire.
