MaryJane Mudd appointed Executive Director of EHCMA

The East Harris County Manufacturers Association (EHCMA) announced that MaryJane Mudd has been appointed Executive Director, effective March 1, 2021.

An award-winning public affair professional, Mudd specializes in stakeholder engagement, media relations, crisis communications, issues management, marketing communications and strategic planning. For more than 20 years, Mudd has used these skills to positively impact the petrochemical and energy industries where she has served in roles for Air Liquide America, Conoco, ConocoPhillips, Dow, Shell Oil, SABIC and Clariant.

Additionally, Mudd has led public affairs activities for the American Red Cross in Houston, where she managed volunteers and was one of the organization’s national crisis spokespersons during Hurricane Harvey. She is trained in the Federal Emergency Response Agency’s Incident Command System and has facilitated crisis communications and media interview training for more than 1,000 executives, managers and field employees.

“I have spent nearly my entire career supporting manufacturing industries and have seen firsthand the value they bring to society,” said Mudd. “I look forward to leading EHMCA in reinforcing its role as a trusted resource for these industries while maintaining open dialogue that will underpin a strong workforce, clean environment and safe, healthy communities.”

Beyond her professional career, Mudd currently serves as the President of the League of Women Voters of Houston and is a longtime advocate for voter empowerment and women’s rights. She has also served as President of the American Marketing Association, Vice President of Marketing and Class Chair for Leadership Houston, Advanced Volunteer Public Affairs Team Member for the American Red Cross, Communications Chair for the Purdue University Parent and Family Advisory Council and Corporate Advisory Board member for the National Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance.

MaryJane holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Central Michigan University. She’s married with three daughters and made Houston her home more than 20 years ago.
