Marathon cancels $2.5B Garyville expansion project
Marathon Petroleum has scrapped the residual oil upgrader expansion (ROUX) project at its Garyville, Louisiana, refinery. First announced in December 2013, construction was initially set to begin this year. In February, however, Marathon decided to defer a final investment decision on the project. Company CEO Gary Heminger announced the cancellation in a statement on Thursday.
