Western Refining to buy idled ConocoPhillips fractionation plant

Western Refining agreed to acquire an idled fractionation plant in Gallup, N.M., from ConocoPhillips. The 25,000-barrel-per-day Wingate Fractionation Plant — which is located near Western Refining’s Gallup refinery — includes a rail loading and offloading terminal and 125,000 barrels of NGL storage capacity.  The transaction is expected to close next month.

“The strategic location of the Wingate facility is a great addition to the logistical assets of Western,” said Western Refining CEO Jeff Stevens. “We will work closely with ConocoPhillips to ensure a smooth transition.
