HOUSTON — Total Safety will host its 19th Annual Helping Heroes Charity Golf Tournament May 24 at La Cantera Hill Country Resort in San Antonio.
What started as a small local tournament in 1988 has grown to become one of the industry’s premiere charity tournaments in Texas. Proceeds from tournament sponsorships help support “heroes” whose mission is to improve the lives of children, families and servicemen and women. All of the proceeds will benefit Combat Marine Outdoors, Sky High for St. Jude and Krysta’s Karing Angels.
In 2015, the Helping Heroes Charity Golf Tournament donated more than $110,000 to the three benefiting charities. This year, the tournament hopes to increase that number.
“Supporting our local communities is core to our values at Total Safety,” said Paul Tyree, chief operating officer at Total Safety. “This tournament not only gives us the opportunity to bring some of the industry’s leading companies and individuals together for a day of networking and recreation, it also has purpose, meaning and benefits three outstanding organizations. We are honored to be a part of helping these organizations succeed in their missions to help wounded veterans, children suffering from cancer and other life-threatening diseases and families who have lost a loved one to a drunk driver.”
With more than 300 corporate sponsors and individual contributors, the Helping Heroes Charity Golf Tournament hosts 72 golf teams on The Palmer and The Resort Courses at La Cantera. The event begins with an evening reception May 23, and tournament play begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on May 24. The event concludes following the luncheon and awards presentation at 2 p.m.
The Helping Heroes Charity Golf Tournament is made possible thanks to the generous support of its sponsors, including MSA (title sponsor), Valero, Avis, Honeywell, ExxonMobil, Phillips 66, DuPont, Citgo, JPMorgan Chase and many more industry leaders.
